Boris Mikhailov is a photographer born in Ukraine in 1938. Challenging and provocative, Mikhailov’s photographs document human casualties living in post-communist Eastern Europe after the demise of the Soviet Union. He is the recipient of the 1999 Krazna-Krausz Photography Book Award for ‘Case History’, the 2000 Hasselblad Foundation International Award and Citibank 2001 Photography Prize. Mikhailov was selected for representing the Ukranian Pavilion at the 2007 Venice Biennale.

In January 2011 Mikhailov participated to 'Monanism', the opening exhibition of the private foundation Mona, Tasmania, Australia.
