Mario dellavedova was born in 1958 in Milan, Italy. He works and lives in Villastanza, Milan, and Taxco, Mexico.

His conceptual work juxtaposes artfacts, furniture, textile and daily life objects and creates works that through the richness of their materials, and the refinement of their detail undermine their own quotidian function. By juxtaposing familiar and quotidian elements these works create an atmosphere of intimacy, and mystical nuances that overwhelm the viewer with feelings and emotions.

Through other pieces, similar to paintings comprising words and banal sentences Dellavedova seems to evoke the banality of painting and its subjects as well as his detached and ironic spirit.

Dellavedova's work has been exhibited internationally, including the P.S.1 in New York, the Museum of del Carmen in Valencia and the Museum of Contemporary art of Seoul.
